Our aim with this project is to showcase what is available and in a way that is accessible to both individual residents or workers in Hackney and the organisations supporting the community.
We aim to build a comprehensive digital database of free resources of services and activities that are available in Hackney. There are many events, opportunities and support activities which are already happening in Hackney, which can help people to improve their quality of life in the borough.

How can you help with our calendars project?
How does it benefit people who do not or can not access the internet?
Through printed physical copies of the calendar targeted to particular areas and groups.
– We encourage local organisations to print relevant sections of the calendar to share with their users.
– We print and share physical copies of the information at local hubs (e.g. local community centres, libraries and GP surgeries) for those who are digitally excluded
How are these calendars different to what is currently available?
We focus on free or Pay As You Feel (PAYF) resources so that a greater number of people can access them. When we categories the information we do so by user interests as opposed to service provider; so rather than seeing services provided by a particular company, we show services provided for particular user groups (defined by age, interest, time and other user oriented categories).
Who will find our Calendar helpful?

Looking for help with managing health issues or looking for activities to improve their health & quality of life.
Local organisations in Hackney who are supporting the community. These organisations might find it helpful to:
– Share the information in our Calendar with their users
– Post their services and events on our Calendar to increase their user base
