PIVOT Support is a charitable organisation that was formed in 2015 with the aim of promoting wellbeing. The project provided a number of social activities as a way to facilitate access for its users to a wider community network.
PIVOT support is the umbrella organisation for a number of different projects which explored inclusive ideals through different methods of engagement. All are seen as platform and catalyst to community cohesion…

Inspired by the Detroit Soup model for community dinner microgrants, We organise these events in Hackney, North-East London… What is it? • 4 presenters pitch their ideas for a project that will in some way benefit the local community • They each get 4 minutes to present and then 4 questions from the audience • The audience receive soup, salad, bread & a chance to vote on the pitch they think is best • The winning idea takes home the donations from the door to help start their project Cost £3.50 (suggested donation) We believe in inclusion and hope that as many people as are interested will be able to come along. The suggested £3.50 donation is just that, a suggestion. Feel free to give more or less depending on your desire and circumstances. Why? To give people the opportunity to socialise, eat together and discuss local issues Allow people the chance to hear and help fund ideas that could benifit the local community Giving presenters space to share their ideas, get feedback and possibly some funding

Our aim with this project is to showcase what is available and in a way that is accessible to both individual residents or workers in Hackney and the organisations supporting the community. We aim to build a comprehensive digital database of free resources of services and activities that are available in Hackney. There are many events, opportunities and support activities which are already happening in Hackney, which can help people to improve their quality of life in the borough. Frequently asked questions How does the calendar project benefit people who do not or can not access the internet? How are these calendars different to what is currently available? Who will find our Calendar helpful? How can you help with our calendars project? How does it benefit people who do not or can not access the internet? Through printed physical copies of the calendar targeted to particular areas and groups. – We encourage local organisations to print relevant sections of the calendar to share with their users. – We print and share physical copies of the information at local hubs (e.g. local community centres, libraries and GP surgeries) for those who are digitally excluded How are these calendars different to what is currently available? We focus on free or Pay As You Feel (PAYF) resources so that a greater number of people can access them. When we categories the information we do so by user interests as opposed to service provider; so rather than seeing services provided by a particular company, we show services provided for particular user groups (defined by age, interest, time and other user oriented categories). Who will find our Calendar helpful? Individual residents of Hackney who are: Tackling a practical problem in their lives (e.g. struggling to pay bills, in a dispute with their landlord, etc) and need advice & support to overcome this challenge. Looking for help with managing health issues or looking for activities to improve their health & quality of life. Local organisations in Hackney who are supporting the community. These organisations might find it helpful to: – Share the information in our Calendar with their users – Post their services and events on our Calendar to increase their user base
